I would if I could, last time I looked there’s no way to get OpenV to talk to a Vitodens 222-W.
I can’t see any reason for it not working. A quick googeling and i found this:
OP in that thread seemed to have problems with the IR-hardware itself. I skipped that DYI part and connected the IR-interface USB from the Vitoconnect to my rpi instead.
Anyway i think this is getting a bit far off topic now. Is there any better place to discuss integrations and solving these issues?
The 222-w has no optolink “port”, so you’d need to first sponsor Viessman some more by buying an extra controller.
Yet, the 222-W (and some others) are already fully connected.
I have configured my configuration.yaml with
vicare:
username: [email protected]
password: Ddasdas
Made the folder custom_components\vicare under config and put the files from https://github.com/oischinger/ha_vicare/tree/master/vicare
I only get the custom ViCare Heating and Vicare Water entitiy and cant do anything to control the heater.
Do I need to install PyViCare? Any documentation on how installing? I´m on Home Assistant within a docker on a ubuntu computer.
Hey @Daniel_Dyp_Jonasson
With recent home Assistant installations you don’t need the custom component. Vicare integration is built-in.
What do you mean by you can’t do anything? What parameters do you change? What is not working?
In entities they both shows up with no uniqueID. In love lace I can se Vicare Water but Vicare Climate is idle.
What kind of device do you have? Maybe it’s not supported. Does tue Viessmann app work for you?
So…I received this Mail a few minutes ago:
Dear {{ insert first_name ‘default=default’ }} {{ insert last_name ‘default=default’ }},
an evaluation has shown that you have used the web interface to Viessmann IoT Services very frequently in recent days.
On the one hand, we are delighted to know you are taking a closer look at our products and solutions. Especially since you have (apparently) found a solution for your specific use case without a description or our support from our side.
On the other hand, it challenges us to check and channel the method and frequency of requests to our IoT Services in order to keep those stable and available for all our users.
That’s why we have now taken the decision to limit access to our API. From the coming week on, a threshold will become active that prevents from unauthorized use of the API . This will affect all third-party solutions, which can thereby no longer be used.
We are aware that the demand for APIs to our technologies for integration into other solutions and third-party systems is increasing. To provide you with an opportunity for this, we will launch a portal in the next two months for all developers to get access to our API. With the Viessmann Developer Portal , we intend to open ourselves up, release a documentation of the interface and co-develop new solutions together with you. In addition, we are planning to provide you with useful information around our heating systems you need for your development and to offer you a first-level support concerning our APIs.
As one of the users who is already working with our API, we would like to invite you to an early access to the Developer Portal. If you are interested, please fill out this short form. The access to the pre-version of the Portal will be sent to you within the next weeks.
We hope you understand the decision that we have to take. If you are interested to support us, on further development on the API and to explore new possibilities, we are very happy to welcome you to our Developer Portal soon!
In the meantime in case you have any questions, feel free to contact us under [email protected].
Thank you for your understanding.
Anyone else?
Seems everyone just got that mail. Let’s see what happens.
The app isn’t working, it looks more like one of their frequent outages.
Works here still pretty well
Yeah, my ViCare app is also not working. I guess they are working on their backend…
any one who got their developer/api email, please reply to them explaining that it would be in their and our best interests to also have local network access to our data.
Android…
Nevertheless, I’ve replied to their mail, that I’m afraid of getting paid for an service, which normally should be included in a 6000€ heating system, which was praised as online heating system from beginning…
Hoping, that someone takes my mail into account…
Viessmann started some communication on their forums:
