Virtual Machines hosting HA

I have a Windows 2012 Essentials server, which is a headless NAS box. Is there a preferred VM windows environment that people use? I was thinking Virtual Box, as it’s pretty popular VM. Since this box is running 24/7,I might as well try and use it, as it’s got to be faster than an RPI.

I believe Hyper-V is included with your server version. That’s like VirtualBox made by Microsoft.

I use a virtualbox instance as a test configuration for HA. No reason why it couldn’t run a working version.

After using a VM, you’ve got to be nuts to test on a SBC. It’s so much slower and you can’t create checkpoints/restore points

@danielperna84 I really need to thank you for the hyper V info. I don’t know I’d its any better than VirtualBox, but it works beautifully.
