I have two RTS covers, which I control through the cover (platform: rfxtrx) component. Sadly, the covers don’t report their current position back, e.g. “open”, “closed”, “default_position”.
Is there a way to assign a “virtual” sensor to which homeassistant scripts can set the value based on the action performed? Or, is there a better way to keep track of the position of the covers?
I am looking fot the same. I control my blinds with the cover template trough relais connected to GPIO.
I have no feedback, so a want to set the state manually. Is there a service we could use to set the state or do we have to use a virtual sensor as suggested in the opening post?
