Virtualbox Home assistant crashed - recovery showing issues

So a few weeks back my Oracle Virtualbox installation crashed. When I double click on it, it runs several lines then goes to a blank screen and just sits there. It seemed to happen when I tried updating HACS as it stated there was an update (that was a chore in itself trying to understand how to install HACS). After that there was a release update so I proceeded to do that. It appeared the update didn’t take and everything seemed to go to crap after that.

I found out how to extract a snapshot using 7zip and created a new system I think following the same video I did months ago to setup virtualbox and then restored the snapshot I extracted. Since then it seems like nothing is working right. For one my phone wouldn’t connect locally, I had to connect only through duckdns. While on the PC running VM things seem to run better, but I will notice lights won’t respond quickly and sometimes not at all.

I’m really at a loss on what to be looking for to either fix the broken one or get the new one operating properly. Alexa seems to be the only thing that operates things still correctly. I’ve even contemplated starting from scratch and re-integrate all my devices.

So I may have figured out the issue with not being able to access home assistant locally. The video I used it had me set a static IP using root. The ip for some reason added a /36 subnet rather than /24. Not sure that being the issue I completely reset to default, rebooted VM found the IP address and was able to login with no issue. For now I’m not adding a static IP as it is working better.

What I’m still experiencing is devices not accurately depicting status in Lovelace which I didn’t have issues before the crash. Example is tonight my outside lights came on via Nodered automation. I haven’t edited the automation for some holiday Halloween colors and I manually set them last night. When they came on today the status was showing the light being the colors I set last night even though looking at them physically they weren’t . Something is hanging up and keeping the status as wrong even though turning things on and off, changing color, etc. seems to be functioning properly using Lovelace.
