Visualising content for eink display

Has anyone found a good way to visualise what they want to show on their eink display without resorting to trial and error uploading new versions to their device?

I’d also be interested in everyone’s experiences.

I wanted to figure out how to simulate and/or emulate ESP32 with ESPHome stack, but didn’t have the time. There are fancy emulators - both web-based and standalone - these days, maybe it’d be possible to run at least display libraries from ESPHome.

Wokwi supports ESP32 and several displays, maybe there will be a way to import ESPHome libraries. Same applies to Fritzing and Tinkercad.

Same issue here. What did make it a BIT less repetitive: setting up a file in a pixel-based graphics program, in the same resolution as the display. At least for positioning and sizing graphical elements that does the trick.
