Actually this is fantastic news for me! I know my way around Illustrator but find inkscape frustrating, I had no idea it was an option.

I build them as AI files and then just export as SVG at the end. Can’t wait to see what types of interfaces you come up with!
Quick question: when you’re exporting from Illustrator to SVG what setting are you using to retain the fonts used in your design? I’m looking to use a non-Android font but creating outlines will cause problems for flooorplan.
