I installed ESP32-S3-BOX with the voice assistant and followed the guide on the home page. The box wakes up when I say ok nabu but it always response with “I couldn’t understand that”. I switched to english but I cant see whats wrong. Has anybody seen this issue?
If you type the same phrase into assist via the UI does it understand your request ?
I’d start with something simple like a one word alias on (say) a light, then just say something like ‘turn on lamp’… does that work ?
Also, do you have a strong accent when speaking in English ?
Looks like Assist is configured in German, so try German… Use an intent which is integrated like

I have the same issue when using default Home Assistant as Conversation Agent in voice assistant pipeline. You should try using Google generative AI or OpenAI for this.
It really seems like the assistant can only respond to question that are related to home automation. Asking for the living room temperature works. Everything general does not work. I thought the assistant can be used like a Alexa where you can also ask general questions.
