Is it possible to set up Voice (PE, local) to respond to both local language and English, like Google assistant?
The use cases are:
1 Terrible success rate with local language. It would be nice to be able to fall back to English.
2 English speaking guests should also be able to give commands.

I don’t know if there is anything in Assist itself, but there is a setting in Whisper STT (Add-ON) to “auto” which says it will try to auto detect the spoken language (but will “run much slower”)
If it’s this setting, it was on “auto” as default. I found the “beam size” and tried to set it to one for better quality, but it reverts to zero…

I played around with it a bit …
Even though it is set to 0, it defaults to 5. When set to 0, if you put your logs in debug level it will show:
DEBUG:__main__:Beam size automatically selected: 5
May want to refresh the web page, sometimes the web-browser caches the earlier setting.

I just watched the announcement presentation and suspect that the first issue to get across, is the fact that my local language is not supported for local processing. That is probably the reason why the “beam size” behaves as it does.
The topic question is still relevant for Nabu users, but since I am using the local assistant, I need to wait for my language to be supported locally.
Can’t have everything first… =)
