Hi there! I’m new to all this HA-Stuff, so forgive me if I have some noob questions…
In my setup I have some old things who are IR-controlled with Harmony. To control the volume I use input_buttons which works fine so far within HA.
But I wanted a little more and I connect HA to Homekit on my iPhone. I realized that a simple “Pushbutton” don’t work here. So I created input_booleans for that. When I say “Hey Siri, Diner Room lauder” it works but I get the answer “Okay, the Diner Room lauder is on (or off)”. Which makes no sense in case of just turning up/down volume.
So I take a look at Alexa and I thought it’s more configurable than Homekit. I created my own skill without Nabu Casa, set filters that Alexa don’t see anything and so on…
But here I have to say “Alexa, turn Diner Room lauder on (or off)”. Which is much more absurd.
I’m pretty sure that there are possibilities to create things like this more smoother, but I don’t know where and how.
