Volvo Cars integration - new 2022 Google Android software does not seem to integrate

Hi, I’ve been using the Volvo integration for a while (with a 2016 Volvo V70) and everything worked fine.

Now I’ve replaced the V70 with a 2022 C40 (running Google Android software), deleted the old car from the Volvo Cars app and added the new one, in the app everything works weel again.

However, the new car does not appear in Home Assistant. And all the sensors still have the old (V70) names.

Anyone an idea now to delete the old sensors (maybe the full integration), and add the new one? Just deleting the car login from the config file does not help.

I don’t know why your old data shows up, but I’m quite sure you will not get any data from the C40. I think they have shut down the external API since they got Android in the cars.

I tried to delete the device tracker from the known devices yaml file, but that didn’t help. It’s still there.

The Android based cars are not compatible with the existing Volvo setup. The backend is completely different. Same problem with the Polestar, which uses the same new backend.

The story I have heard is that the company which made the original Volvo backend API was bought by VW, so Volvo group have had to recreate it from scratch. The android App itself queries two different backends, depending on the car, but there is no external API for the new Android platform.

There have been a number of attempts to reverse engineer it (check the unofficial Volvo forums) but none have been successful. It is a matter of waiting for Volvo to release the external API.

Hi, any update on this matter ?
I own an 2020 S90 and my wife just bought the XC40with Android. Have both cars on my VolvoOnCall iPhone App but i cannot introduce 2 cars in my configuration file.
If someone can help …

Philippe

Same here, moved from xc40 to c40.
XC40 showed up nicely, c40 is not visible.
