I am considering configuring some of my sensors in a ‘triplex’ / ‘voting logic’ configuration and wonder if any other users have set this up either at microcontroller level or in home assistant itself.
i use I2C sensors for temperature and humidity and they sometimes throw out bad information. power cycling fixes it but it would be good to have more robust automatic control of this reset.
borrowing from the aviation industry, the idea that springs to mind is voting logic.
a minimum of 3 inputs so the system itself can spot an erroneous sensor and report it while still outputting good information, ‘fail operational’ as its known.
Is there a way to ‘combine’ sensors, ideally at the microcontroller level?
Is this a thing?
