Issue 1: I had a successful install yesterday, finally after many many attempts. My laptop had a system update and when I went to launch HA, I’m faced with this. Any ideas where to go from here?
Issue 2: My chrome says “This site can’t be reached” help please and thank you.
It started with Supervisor reporting a fantasy IP address (171.36 …) then when I clicked exit to … exit without saving, I got a sad mac and nothing works anymore.
This was before updating to 2024.6
I’m going to try and reconfigure Network Manager from the CLI
type ‘login’ at the # prompt
type ‘banner’ at the ha> prompt
this typically resolves it if you’ve waited a sufficient amount of time. Why it happens is unclear to me
‘jobs info’ will also tell you what supervisor is up to. You may see a bunch of restart and repair items. These can take a while. Sometimes I’ll just issue ‘reboot’ if it is taking too long. That typically helps when it boots again (still need login/banner typically). I have about half a dozen add-ons and more integrations than I can count.
I ‘fixed it’ with an “ho shutdown”. After which, a power up. 2025.5.3
HA in virtual box on Ubuntu on a remote computer.
The following is just interesting:
First I couldn’t access HA.
I couldn’t ping the virtual machine
I couldn’t VNC to the remote computer
I could ping the remote computer
I couldn’t ssh into the remote computer
A day later, desperate, VNC was successful!!?? But the Virtual Box had terminated
Rebooted the remote computer
Virtual Box started, but HA showed this error, thus my ‘fix’
The remote computer is also running mosquito and SIP (sustainable irrigation platform, an irrigation front end) and Real VNC server
That’s probably true because I swear at the computer so it will behave, using words like awkgrep and sed and words that regularly expressed with s/^[0-9]*\t(final)/\1first/g
