Hi,
i’m completly new to esphome and this stuff…
I have ordered a water purifier, and they told me that there is some integration possible into domotica systems.
They have for this purpose 2 output relays, and one Input.
The output can be configured to open/close on specific events, eq. one can be open when there is a error, one can be open when a cleaning cycle is running or scheduled.
The input relay can be used to force a cleaning cycle.
Now i was wondering, can i capture does relays via a esp32 board, and if so, any suggestions what i need and if things are needed beside this board?
Make sure you get a standard ESP8266 (like a D1-Mini) or an ESP32 DevKit-C or similar. Stay away from the C3, S2 and S3 variants as the internet is still catching up with them for tutorials etc.
You’ll get something like this cheaper on Aliexpress, there are also sites like Sparkfun that sell even more expensive (but better quality) boards:
Yep - that should be fine. I should have asked a question though, what is the coil voltage of the relay you want to drive? You may require a small transistor if it needs more than 3.3V.
If you have the manual for the purifier it should tell you.
