Water shutoff / stopcock uk

Hi all

I’m new to HA and have been looking into the possibility of a water shutoff solution in the event of a pipe burst. I know this is an event that doesn’t occur often if at all. However, it’s still one I think should be possible in 2022 IoT automation.

Looking around the forum I don’t see much talked about on this subject, maybe the terminology I use to describe the problem. Does anyone have any working solutions with hardware recommendations ?

I don’t have a UK solution per se but I’m sure you should be able to find something similar.

I installed a ball valve shut-off as part of my plumbing renovation which then allowed me to install a zwave valve actuator.

Then I have a couple of water sensors in the basement and if they detect water it triggers an automation to shut the valve.

the actuator is made by Dome and I got from Amazon (currently unavailable but it is a US zwave version anyway):

Are you looking for hardware to turn the water off? There are plenty of valves out there, eg https://www.amazon.com/Water-valve-arduino/s?k=Water+valve+arduino

There is also Flume - Home Assistant

Or are you looking for hardware to detect leakage? (Which flume also does).

Thanks guys. Hardware is step one. Then step two is working out how to integrate into HA.

Currently I use a zigbee gateway from coinbee. Also have sensors via aqura. So the idea would be to have hardware this is zigbee supported and to find an already build hA intergration

So what shutoff

If you can install a lever type valve, after your stop cock you could maybe use this ?

Amazing, thanks all
