As a fast and cheap solution, I put my aqara contact sensors (not the magnets) into disposable glove fingers with a simple knot. These are really thin so there’s no issue using the original plastic part they’re mounted on. Do you think it will be enough?

Probably. My gate sensor from the pictures is still going strong (3 years, 6 months - 2 battery changes). No weatherproofing whatsoever except mainly being covered because the gate is closed.
If you can embed the sensors in the frame then I heartily recommend it.
