Should I start a new thread or inject into this one?
Prior responses here have helped me a bunch.
I am reading with interest since I just bought a Galaxy Watch7 and was pleasantly surprised to see the Home Assistant icon. I was able to quickly get my driveway camera to show on my watch. But I wanted to experiment with template tiles.
I added a tile, swipe to the tile then long press to edit it.
went to the phone app and edited the template where I am met with: “Change template in phone settings”
I go to the phone, Companion App, WearOS settings, Template Tiles.
In Template Tiles I have one template: “Template Tile # 1”.
In “Tile # 1”, I added: {{ states(‘sensor.outside_temperature’) }}
(In dev tools, Template editor, this shows my outside tempaerature)
I go back to the watch and swipe to the template, and see: “Change template in phone settings”.
Add the tile from the watch face. Swipe until you get the big plus, click and scroll to select the HA template tile widget. Once that is displayed it will appear in the companion app settings. No need to go into the wear os app settings.
I was just coming back to say how much I loved the shortcuts tile. The favorites under HA label are nice but I need to have my glasses on LOL.
I have been dealing with PC problems the past 2 days, but this was one of my first stops when I got it running (tentatively). Thanks again for all the help. Seems like when the process doesn’t work it’s due to a hardware/ software issue NOT Home Assistant. stevemann had a similar problem to mine but his was on the phone end instead of the watch
