Weather.home / met.no entity - automation with trigger by temperature above certain value

Hi everybody.

I’m trying to setup an automation that when the weather forecast shows the temperature above a certain value. The idea is to lower the window shutters during the day in summer and above a certain temperature. I thought of creating an automation based on Summertime & temperature above 25 degree celsius.

No I tried to use the “above” in the trigger function by using the standard met.no integration for weather forecast.

I don’t get it working as I see a temperature value in the met.no entity, but I don’t know how to put one attribute of the entity in automation trigger.

Has anybody a better idea or knows how to solve this?

Create a template sensor. If your weather entity is called weather.home, it could be something like

    sensors:
      outside_temperature:
        friendly_name: "Outside Temperature"
        unit_of_measurement: '°C'
        value_template: "{{ state_attr('weather.home', 'temperature') }}"

thanks a lot! worked perfect - I added it under sensor section in my configuration.yaml
