Weatherflow Tempest integration

Hi all
Anyone that has a working Weatherflow Tempest integration?

There is a community integration listed in HACS.

This take from UDP. Everything is internal (except forecast, if you want it); no cloud API involved.

I try to find somewhere to buy the Tempest in Europe. Weatherflow web say only sold in US and Canada.

Any luck with getting Tempest in Europe?

I know there are Tempest owners in Europe:

@briis is the person behind WeatherflowUDP2MQTT which I use for getting my Tempest to HA and he is in Europe and has a Tempest along with a Sky & Air unit.
It might be a supply chain issue at the moment but Weatherflow has coverage worldwide (mainly USA and Europe).

@GlennHA is correct, I live in Europe and have all the WeatherFlow devices. But my Tempest is a Developer sample I got from WeatherFlow. Just checked their website, and only US is available if you want to buy one.

Maybe try and ask in the Tempest Community

I just ordered mine now  for more information, PM me.

Hi,
I’m not able to PM you but can you share some info on how you managed to order europe version, I see from specs that it uses different radio frequencies between station and hub.

Just send me a PM in this forum.
The device arriving in Europe is the European version.

Would be nice to have a built-in integration.

Hi Fair Dinkum,

Do you know the diff between the EU version and the US version. I was wondering if I should pick one up in the US and bring it over?

I believe the differences are mainly radio frequencies.
( and maybe warranty terms?)

Are you able to PM me with info on how to get the Tempest in Europe/UK? Too new to the community to message you myself.

Why PM? This isn’t top secret stuff. Maybe there are other users looking for the same info?
FWIW I have Tempest and I love it. Also, it appears you can order in Europe right from the manufacturer now.

What the…? When I visit that link it says unavailable!

Ha. It does for me now also, even UK. I’d like to think that my post generated so much interest in 5 minutes they sold out. I’m gunna hit 'em up for a comission.

Seriously though, if they’re out, they’re out. I don’t think you can get them anywhere else. Probably chip shortage or supply chain issues.

@jazzyisj I think you would not have been able to add it to the cart as your button above is also greyed out.
Anyway, @flyingwild you got PM

I reached out on the online chat on the Tempest webpage when I was looking for Australia. They responded pretty quickly saying, they’re still trialing/setting up international shipments and only sending devices when requested. I was then sent a personalised link to order for Australia with a discount code. However, I still had to empty my bank account for shipping/US dollar conversion. No doubt it’ll improve once the system is ‘live’. Looks to be the best product on the market from what I’ve reviewed. Additional bonus is the solar panels on all 4 sides so it isn’t impacted by northern/southern hemisphere installations. Something I’ve noticed is limited with other weather stations.

I submitted my info on Notify Me When Available in My Region - WeatherFlow and next day had a link to participate in a ‘trial’ purchase for shipment to the UK. Shipment was pretty quick and it arrived in about 10 days. Delivered in the UK by Parcelforce. Additional charge of £68.85 to pay, of which £12 was the Parcelforce handling charge. The remainder was VAT. No customs charges were raised. I had estimated around £100 in additonal fees, so was happy with that. Weatherflow could really do with a UK distributor though!

Simple to install and works great in via the HACS integration. Am able to have the temp/humidity show up in Apple Home. I’m also able to automatically control a blind (Aqara Roller Shade driver) in the kitchen to open/close at certain lux levels derived from the Tempest light sensor.
