Hi, not sure when this started but my LG tv appears as “unavailable” in HA.
I do have some automations set up that use the notify service and they still work so the integration is still there but when I look at the device it shows:
Any ideas?
TIA

The first things I’d check:
It should be added using webostv:
webostv:
host: <ip or hostname>
name: Friendly name
Did you restart HA recently and the TV was off? Try turning the TV on and restarting HA.
Hi,
Yeah literally tried all these… IP is static so that hasn’t changed, very strange indeed! Because like I said, I can use the notify.tv service perfectly well and I have automations set up that use this notify service when a person arrives home.
Yeah tried this too
That’s odd. I have an LG too and all is working fine (HA 0.112.2).
So the only thing I can think of is an incompatibility between your TV Firmware (recently updated?) and HA.
Just to have it said.
Have you checked your history entry (oldest you can find) to see if it was available back then, that might be a staring point. Then you at least know it worked or not worked for 30 days (or whatever set in the config).
History shows the device as “unavailable” for as long as I can go back.
I’ve just been through the setup and paring process again and even though that is successful it is still unavailable. Odd.
I’ll continue to look around, cheers.
Okay, sorted now.
My device media_player.tv was in some “restored” state. I’ve never seen that before?
There was another deivce - media_player.tv_2 this one is responding.
I’ve seen this before, device_tracker, and other devices
Great it sorted out.
I by the way do had something similar with automatically detected devices. Didn’t think of that though.
