I have a Weewx weather station, and I am struggling to get the date into HA.
I have installed the weewx-mqtt extension. I understand that there are other extensions, but they seem to either need to be running inside Docker alongside Weewx, or needing the whole thing to be installed using pip which again I’m not. It’s a vanilla Raspberry Pi OS install with Weewx installed via Apt.
Anyway, I have configured the Weewx part in weewx.conf as below
[[MQTT]]
server_url = mqtt://mqtt:*******@192.168.0.45:1883
topic = weather
unit_system = METRIC
binding = archive, loop
aggregation = aggregate
retain = True
That seems to be working fine as I can see from the service status that records are being published
Oct 15 10:32:00 weatherstation weewxd[103597]: INFO weewx.restx: MQTT: Published record 2026-10-15 10:32:00 BST (1792056720)
Oct 15 10:32:21 weatherstation weewxd[103597]: INFO weewx.restx: MQTT: Published record 2026-10-15 10:32:20 BST (1792056740)
Oct 15 10:32:41 weatherstation weewxd[103597]: INFO weewx.restx: MQTT: Published record 2026-10-15 10:32:40 BST (1792056760)
I have configured MQTT in HA, as well as MQTT explorer, and I can see the data coming in
I have also created a weather.yaml in the packages folder, and added the entry into configuration.yaml to pull in the package, which it seems to
mqtt:
sensor:
# Temperature
- name: weewx_outtemp_c
unique_id: weewx_outTemp_c
icon: mdi:thermometer
state_topic: "weather/outTemp_C"
value_template: "{{ value | round(1) }}"
unit_of_measurement: "°C"
device_class: temperature
I can see that device as an entity under MQTT
I’m not getting any data into that device though. I’m sure I am missing some simple link, but I don’t know what. Any pointers would be more than welcome.
