Wemo Dimmer Switch work with Hassio

Hello,

i have a few wemo switches and the have been working perfectly, I got two dimmer switches today and for the life of me I can get them to showup in my ui. Any suggestions or are that not setup the same way as the regular switches/wall plugs?

wemo:
  discovery: true
  static:
    - 192.168.86.27
    - 192.168.86.45
    - 192.168.86.50
    - 192.168.86.52
    - 192.168.86.65
    - 192.168.86.66
    - 192.168.86.54
    - 192.168.86.64

I have a wemo dimmer and all I had to do to discover was add it

wemo:

in my configuration.yaml and it discovered fine. I see the dimmer slider. I do not have another Wemo switch but discovery should work fine for both.

all of my other wemo switches are good except for the dimmers, im not sure why?

Does the Wemo app detect the dimmer? I had to launch it and it updated the firmware first time. I added it to home-assistant after I knew it was on my wireless network.

The app works fine, but I did just check the firmware and there is a update. Updating now my fingers are crossed thats all it is!

thanks for your replies! Ill let you know!

Even better yet my friend, they are now HomeKit supported!

Thanks so much!!

Unfortunately it still doesn’t go into the UI, im really confused as to why…

Stupid question, are you looking for a “light” or “switch” entity? Make sure to look for a light not a switch for a dimmer. I presume a dimmer is added as a light (and all you other ones are “switch”… (I’m actually getting one of those Wemo dimmer tonight myself so I’ll confirm…

There is no stupid questions! Yes it was a Wemo dimmer, my first one so I was looking for a switch but it showed up as a light! Lol that took me hours to find

Sometimes it’s the easiest things that take the most time to figure out!

Let me know if you have any trouble! I’ll do what I can to help ya!
