Wemo vs Zwave

So this weekend I bought a couple of the Wemo Mini Switch because they were on sale for $30. I like that their WIFI based (hub less) but after using them for a little bit I’m just not that impress by it.

Some background: I have HA running with a assortment of things on a RPi3 with Hassio. Not more then a month ago I started down the ZWave path and got a USB Stick + 3 plugs. The nice thing about the plugs is that not only do they map a switch in HA but also a couple sensors to indicate Wattage, KWH, etc. I find that very convenient because it opens up automation possibilities since you could sense what a device is up to.

Also minor point but worth noting. The WIFI based Wemo feels slightly sluggish in response time where as ZWave Plugs feel almost instantaneous.

With all that said, I installed the Wemo Switch and at the end of the day it is just a simple switch. Am I overlooking something?
