Wemos D1 Mini - Help me select transistor / mosfet for a 12V LED strobe

Hi!

In earlier project I have used a relay with my D1 mini. For some applications it should work with a transistor or mosfet. But I understand that my electrical knowledge have some holes when I read the datasheets…

I have a LED strobe: DC 12V Mini Wired Strobe Siren Signal Warning Light Flash LED Lamp Highlight Ala Sale - Banggood USA-arrival notice-arrival notice

Rated 12VDC, 120mA.

I do have these transistors home at hand already. Does any of them fit this project (turn on/off the LED strobe).

Or If I need to find another one I can get one that is rated for higher current, if I will have a more power consuming project next time, some amps.

Please help me out! Thanks!

May I ask “why”? :joy:

It has the required current carrying capacity (Ic), and can withstand 12V easily (Vceo) also it is the correct type for low side driving (NPN).

You can use anywhere between 470 Ohms and 1K Ohms for the base resistor.

Wonderful, even a schematic!
Thanks for explaining!

Maybe will be combined with this:
