What are use cases for the Nabu Casa Cloud TTS service?

If I understand it correct the Amazon Echo and Google Nest have their own TTS service.
(as described on their configuration page)

What can we do with the Nabu Casa Cloud TTS?
And what devices would we use together with it?

it tells you on the config page, what you can do and which devices, i see it as an alternative to those other services

You can select the tts.cloud_say service from the dropdown on the Services page from Developer Tools > Services in the UI, and send text to a compatible media player.

Is there a list with compatible media players?

Is this maybe the list I’m looking for?

only if they support tts,

How can I find out before buying/installing?
Is tts sent in a special way to the device/software and not like other audio?

I’m currently looking at these three solutions:

  • Snapcast (because it supports multi room audio)
  • Squeezebox (because I own 3 devices)
  • forked_daap (because it seems to support AirPlay and Chromecast audio protocols)

Do you happen to know if any of these support tts?
