I have just discovered Home Assistant. I haven’t even installed it yet. I have a mix of hardware I have accumulated over the years with everything having it’s own interface. If I could manage from one app it would be awesome. I have a Homeseer Hometroller G1 witch is unsupported but operational. I have a bunch of Z-wave sensors connected to it. I have a garage door closer. I have a Topgreener IP switch. I have Sensi thermostat and 2 Nest thermostats. I have several generations of Foscam cameras. And I have a box of old x10 stuff. Can Home Assistant help me?
Thanks,
Chris
Yes. HomeAssistant can provide single interface for all items and provides you with method for automating some actions or sending out notifications based on some input.
You say Homeseer is unsupported but not sure that is true. If it is not officially supported there is almost always some manner to get it into HA.
Although for the X10 stuff, while you could probably TECHNICALLY make it work - I’d definitely look at newer. ESPECIALLY if you’re basically starting over.
The last version of supported firmware for the ZEE was HS3 ZEE Edition 3.0.0.435. There is a beta version 521 from 2016 that had problems with my configuration and their support said it was time to replace their box as it was no longer supported. Yeah I didn’t really plan on using the x10 stuff but I thought I would through it in there.
