I am planning to buy a connected cat feeder to give the little monster dry food when I’m away. The main goal is to be sure that I see the level going down after each portion given, so that I am sure the cat gets to it and that the device is not malfunctioning because of a power outage, food getting stuck or something like this.
I am not looking for super fancy models. I have seen so far the Aqara Pet Feeder C1 (92.-), Xiaomi Feeder 2nd gen (53.-).
Is there other you would recommend ?
Thanks in advance and have a nice day
I tried making a custom integration for this Philips feeder, reversing engineering the API, but didn’t figure out fully how I wanted the information to show up like events.
I didn’t manage to get the camera feed working, that is using some other protocol I wasn’t able to get (yet)
Got a first version for people interested to try out! Sadly some of the controls are Tuya exclusive, so it needs a rooted phone (afaik) to get the needed key for those.
The devices, meal schedules, events, powering off and disable/enable motion notifications are available!
Feel free to leave feedback or changes you would like to see, and i’ll look into it
I have gone through 2 petkit feeders and they are junk. Stay Away.
I tried a Petlibro feeder after that and it is ok. I wish it had a scale so it would not dispense if food was already in the bowel because it gets jammed a lot.
Has anyone tried Pet Litter or Sure Petcare? both feeders seem to have built in cloud integrations…
Any other pet feeders out there made in the USA with local control as an option that doesn’t require me to take it apart or flash it?
Has anyone heard of Pawsync? Looks good but I have not seen any work done on it yet. Looks like they might be associated with VeSync?
