What happened to the default dashboards :(

You guys still dont, get it, there has never been a feature called Device-specific-dashboard … it’s setting you do in your browser , so fact is you can have as many “settings” you want in as many Browsers you have on your device, as long as you dont flush your cache, move on

learn about grid, and what to place in specific grid-area

Yes this is the new guide-lines
As i see it we now have +3 ways of doing “things”
1 set a default-system-settings
2 every user can set a user.settings (for them self)
3. every user who access through their phones and Laptop/PC can have:
4. every user can have,I.E their own default-dashboard (on theirs phones)
5. And on their PC/Laptop an URL-shortcut on their desktop pointing to http/homeassistant.local/dashboard-my.fu preferred pc dashboard/gotit
click open/login(if one have saved-login ?
(i.e short-cut on their desktop, pointing to "http://homeassistant.local:8123/dashboard/my-preferred-pc-dashboard/my-preferred-pc-dashboard (figure it out)

The previous (Imaginary “Device settings” ) which was stored in your login/session (Browser/APP>which is a Browser-app) == Vanish upon flush cache etc.

  1. Sorry i couldn’t help it … 1 more options
  2. Have your Device(i.e Wall Tablet/PC) boot, and on boot “start preferred Browser with the URL to preferred HA/Dashboard” ( No redundant Clicks ) if that is Your consern

in the Companion App there was a setting that did set the default dashboard only for mobile device.
It has been removed as of the last update.

I don’t remember ever seeing such a setting in the Android Companion App. The only one I ever recall seeing is the one in the logged in user’s profile.

I have a condensed dashboard for mobile and something more spread out for my desktop usage. I thought I was losing my mind but this was apparently removed.

It really was in the app under “user profile > Settings for mobile app” “The following settings are only for local clients … etc”

Yes it was… why did they change this. So annoying that it suddenly a setting thats pushed across all devices. Instead of the client where you are changing it on…

Gonna try your “Solution”
Or did you manage to fix it another way?

Since yesterday this function is gone as well — useless! You simply use different default functions for desktop and mobile. The only option I see now is to create a second user for my mobile devices and set the mobile dashboard as the default there.

That’s an option, I suppose, but I would prefer to have the existing system changed to allow us the ability to emulate the old behavior, rather than having to completely alter how we use dashboards.

Hi, please restore the default dashboard per device option. I don’t want to need to have 4 user accounts for the same person one for each device (that have different screen sizes and purposes so each has its own default dashboard).

Ill add in, i agree that having to make a “phone” profile for my self along with my standard seems silly. But I will say that if they want to continue this way, then since there is “mobile” integration, maybe i should be able to specifiy what each “Device”'s dashboard is.

If i could just go to my phone, or my tablets device page and set it there… that would seem to be a solution that makes sense… as long as i can turn off the “make this default across everything im logged into”. In fact if you did it by Device then you dont even need it in the profile section.
