What happens if i run an automation to change colour for a light but the light isn't on

Would it wait until the light was on ?

I currently have a automation set to run at 07:00 to set all lights to white, to reset all the colours from the evening before. But others may have switched these physically off.

What would happen?
What would be the best way to solve this ? Set conditions?

If they’re physically off, with no power, then the service call fails and nothing happens.

If they have power, but are “off” then they’ll turn on to the settings you’ve given.

The best way to solve this is to not cut power to smart lights.

I resolved this by just adding the color to when it detects motion. I have a generic automation that turns everything off throughout the day.
