What hardware do I need to control a motorised sunscreen from Home Assistant?

Hi Guys, sorry if this is a newbie question.

I’m not all that good when it comes to electronics. I’ve just recently started with the DIY home automation and need some help in the right direction with the following.

I want to install a motorised sunscreen in my backyard and control it from HA.
I already configured some NodeMCU’s for other stuff, but I suppose I need to make some kind of pulse switch/relay to send the signal to the sunscreen?

I’m just not sure what board would be good for that. I came across this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Opvtb8RR9e4&t=426s
where this guy uses a relay board, does this fit my needs? My idea is to use ESPHome to add a relay to HA to make some automations. Am I heading in the right direction? Or should I do this some other way? I’ve also seen people use Sonoff, is this a better use case for sonoff perhaps?

Would love to get some opinions on where to start! I’m currently not using any z-wave or zigbee, I’m running HA on hyper-v and am going to migrate to VMware to be able to use USB Support. Thanks in advance!
