What hardware?

Currently using hassio on RPI3. Very much happy with it. Now want to take existing hassio to docker. And also want to use MotionEye on docker. What hardware you recon?

What’s your budget?

USD200, i.e., AUD300

Just wondering, Is RPI4 with 4GB a good option to use for Ha and MotionEye in its own dockers?

Yeah but can he access his z wave stick through docker ?

I used to have some old hardware, but this guy is running a museum !

You could try it, but I would tend to go for some better iron for camera stuff [1]. A small form factor amd64 machine like a nuc or the stuff you get from aliexpress would almost certainly be better.

[1] technical term there.

Second hand laptops have the advantage of having a built in UPS (if the battery is any good).

Otherwise have a look here: https://www.aliexpress.com/store/3643007?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.798d6552hEi9iS

Hope this config should work for HA (docker)and MotionEye (docker).

It should do!

Thanks for quick reply.

The thing I hate about XCY is that the prices on that page look good, but once you click and configure the system the price leaps up.

Their hardware is generally solidly built and at a good price, but not as good a price as the entry page implies.

Yeah its the same whenever a market allows multiple products in the one listing (looking at you fleabay).
