I just recently setup HA for the first time on an old laptop.
I also installed companion app.
HA is regularly notifying me it found new bluetooth devices.
How are these detected? Is that the HA server, which has BT capabilities, or is it my phone/tablet? … or all of them.
I think I detected the neighbor’s toothbrush and then some tracking devices which I do not know.
It is almost definitely the server. HA does support discovery of BT devices via proxy devices, but you would probably know if you set one of those up. If you go to the Integration settings menu you should see a card for the Bluetooth when you click on the card you should see a button for “Configure” which will give you the option to turn off passive scanning. If you want to delete or disable the integration completely, that can be done through the 3-dot menu instead of the “Configure” menu.
