I am new to this forum and I am willing to switch over to Home Assistance for my home automation. I have a lot of HUE applications (2 bridges with 44 Lights, 5 Smartplugs, 10 switches and 9 movement sensors), SLIDE curtain controls, TADO central heating control, GOOGLE nest doorcam, a GOOGLE Nest Max with camera, a TUYA humidity sensor for controlling a bathroom ventiator and a IKEA/SOMOS smart speaker.
In the future I would like to extend with some more controls e.g. an Air Conditioning control and more automatic curtains.
So my question is what type of system is the best to switch over from the several apps to one Home Assistance system.
Thanks for the feedback, but what to choose, I see several options e.g. GREEN, YELLOW but what is recommened for the automation I already have (in regard to expandable and flexibility)??
I have 2 Hue hubs (about 70 lights & 15 Lutron Aurora dimmers), 3 Emporia electric panel meters, 7 Nest thermostats (brought into HA as HomeKit devices with a Starling Hub), 10 or so Hue dimmers not installed in the Hue hubs, a few Shelly relays, Sonoff presence sensors, and a handful of temperature sensors and contact sensors. With the exception of the Lutron Aurora dimmers, all settings/automations for the devices stem from HA. Devices are fed to Homekit for family convenience Siri control (not yet delving into HA’s voice components). That’s 95% Zigbee devices.
I would have preferred getting a Yellow, but I went with the Green “to get started” with HA. 8 months with it, so far it’s all I need with room to spare. I don’t know yet what might get me to feel the Green no longer sufficient enough.
That has me believing the Green is a good staring point generally, but it depends on what’s to be integrated into it, and the wireless communication types one anticipates utilizing.
