My place of work is about 90m away from my home. It’s usually but not always far away enough that the iOS app can see that I’m not at work. Life360 always knows when I’m at work and when I’m at home, but the iOS app sometimes decides to jump me home. Wrecking my automations. Any tips on how to mitigate this? I can’t see how to adjust the radius in the settings page of the iOS app.
Alternatively could I tell the iOS app NOT to background update if the GPS confidence isn’t particularly high? Any other tips?
Is there really no way to adjust the radius? I already do use three locators (but can’t currently use BT). It’s only the iOS being the fly in the ointment. I suppose I could somehow prevent the iOS app setting me home; only away??
You can adjust the radius of your zones and the frequency of the IOS pings. Natively, the iOS app will not update the location if it doesn’t see a move if the location hasn’t moved x meters. It’s a way to save battery. Theres a setting called ‘significant location change’ which is on by default. Try turning that off. Be warned, you may use more battery.
Is that something I’d do in my config file? Currently I don’t think I have any reference to zones in my config. If it’s a case of adding this I can do that - I just wasn’t sure if I should be editing something that’s already there rather than adding new.
Is this based on the movement sensor in the iPhone?
