Hey there,
with one of the 2021.9.x updates, the icon for “PM2,5” was changed to mdi:molecule
.
Personally, I don’t like the new icon, but idk what was the old icon for “PM2,5”. Does anyone know the old icon? I want to use the old icon
Thanks

Couldn’t find an exact match on MDI Icons site but this is very close: google-circles-extended
mdi: chemical-weapon
Which integration are you talking about?
I was actually looking at this yesterday. Sometime in a recent update, PM and AQI were added in device_class. I have not gone thru and added the device class to any of my air quality yet. I was starting to add the new state_class to my sensors when I noticed the additions in device_class. I was actually adding a weight sensor and looking to see if there was a weight device class yet when I noticed the additions (BTW there is still no weigh device class).
If you look up “Purple Air” in the HA forums you will find the mdi icons that some people use. You don’t have to have a Purple Air to get useful information out of those threads.
I use mdi:chemical-weapon for AQI and mdi:grain for my PM sensors. I have seen mdi:smog in use by a few also. I would agree that mdi:molecule does not look like a good fit for PM or AQI. I also use mdi:lung for my AQI descriptive text (ie Good, Unheathly, Moderate…)
Edit: you can override any device_class set icon in customize.yaml
mdi:blur
is pretty good too.
darn it…blur does look better than grain…aaaaa, more sensor changes
That’s the icon! Thank you!
