What Water Sensor works with HASS? Fibaro doesn’t work

I’m looking for a water/flood sensor that will completely work with HASS. I have the Fibaro flood/water sensors, and while they connect fine, it’s not reporting anything through to HASS aside from temperature despite OZW log showing events during water detection.

I’ve done a ton fo searches on this and found various threads which corroborate that the Fibaro sensor just doesn’t work. Some people have tinkered in the guts of the device settings, but the results have been inconsistent.

Which water sensors are known to work 100% with HASS? I’m trying to put sensors in several places to detect water leaks, and some of them I want to ultimately control a shutoff valve at my water main when there is a leak.

I’ve got 3 Neo coolcam ones an they work perfectly.

Fibaro fgfs101 works fine for me

I have one of the Aeotec ones that works fine (after I changed one of the reporting value settings through the zwave control panel–it wasn’t reporting anything originally)

I have one of those too and was having trouble. What reporting type value did you use? 272?

Looks like the ones I have have a different ID (2001) so it’s not matching anything in openzwave manufacturer mapping to configure files.

I figured out a way to get it to work by manually doing some changes.

I used 4113 for the Report Type to Send value

Where did you learn about the possible values and meaning of values?

@robmarkcole i want something more polished than DIY, but thanks for the pointer.

On HASS it showed this description for Report Type to Send:
To set which command will be sent to the associated nodes when the Water Sensor is triggered. Bitsets: 1 -> Battery 4 -> Sensor Binary 8 -> Basic Set 12 -> Alarm Default setting: 0x100 (Basic Set) OZW Ideal Setting: 0x1011 (Battery, Sensor Binary Report, Alarm)

so I just converted 0x1011 to an integer, which is 4113

Im also using the Fibaro HomeKit leak sensor and integrating through HomeBridge. I have tested it several times and it works fine in real use.

Did you change anything in the zwave settings? Hass shows a bunch of sensors but not sure which is the actual leakage as I only see a value, not on/off

No, I didnt change anything. The water leakage has a separate binary_sensor that goes to on when water is detected.

Hi
I think about but water sensors Neo Coolcam by WIFI model NAS-WS02W. Is any chance to integrate it with Home Assistant ? It is probably on ESP8266. Maybe any chance to change firmware in this on custom like Tasmota ? But how configure this firmware to detect leak. Please help…

I have the zwave neo coolcam watersensor which works fine

How did you connect Neo coolcam zwave water sensor to Z-wave JS?
I tried to do this more than few times, no luck.
Everything else is connected to Zwave network without any problem
TY

That’s a long time ago. So honestly not sure. Also use zwave-js. Maybe faulty sensor?

They send me an EU version of the sensor. Refund was issued and I got me an different brand sensor. TY
