I can’t get a default configuration.yaml file to pass a configuration check. I’m not sure what I did to get into this state. The current syntax below was copied/pasted from somewhere online, but the code is the same… just the comments are different.
What am I doing wrong? My searches suggest indentation issues, but I don’t see any.

Please make the title more relevant to your question, like “configuration invalid error” instead of “What’d do i do”, so that people may see the topic and help you.
A screenshot of the top of your configuration.yaml will not help because the line which creates the error, it seems, is not there. You need to post your full configuration.yaml in order for us to help. Also, as @parautenbach asked, the log file will be very helpful.
You should just be able to undo those changes that you made and it will work.
If you can’t undo the changes (because you don’t know what they used to be) then I think you can just delete the configuration.yaml file (or better rename it to something else just in case) and when you restart HA it should create a new one.
