What's the current proper way to integrate Xiaomi devices?

Hi,

I see there’s been an update an now the Xiaomi Aqara component is bundled in. So, I guess this method is obsolete, right?:

Xiaomi Gateway Integration

And so, can I delete the folder with the xiaomy.py files under the custom components folder (as described in the “obsolete” method?

the xiaomi gateway is integrated into home assistant so there’s no more need to install a custom component. Remove the custom component if you have it installed and Just follow the official documentation.
