I am trying to find out which type of helper can do what kind of functionality.
But besides the very limited information when you add one in the userinteface, I cannot find any documentation.
(There are a lot more types than last time I added a simple number helper)
And please make up your mind… is “Generic Thermostat” a helper or an integration?
And now I cannot delete a statistics helper…

Glad you found it too.
The documentation often seems to be writen FOR people who already know how to do it.
I understand its written BY people who know how to do it.
Documentation is hard, because we all come from different skill levels.

All helpers are integrations.
Most have a help link (?) in the upper right corner of their setup dialog, that takes you to their integration page.
Ask AI: “in home assistant how do I set the value in a helper and how do i read it back in an automation”
