Which DIY DSMR Reader do I use?

I’m looking into adding a P1 reader to my system, but I’m not sure which to get. The two DIY readers I’m looking at seem to give slightly different info.

The ESPHome one gives Power Returned L1-L3, which the MQTT one doesn’t seem to have. The MQTT one gives actual_tarif_group 2, short_power_drops 0, short_power_peaks 0.

I have solar panels, so I will have some personal use from that as well as some return to grid. And if course I have regular power and gas. I want all of that to appear correctly in my Energy Dashboard. I am currently using Toon, but I’ve never gotten it to work quite correctly. It doesn’t always match the info from Essent. And part of that is that I do a bit of processing on some of the data because I seem to be missing certain details.

So yeah, which one shall I make?

I don’t see a full design there, so I can’t simply build it. There’s a part of a schematic designed around a 4N35, which looks similar to mmakaay’s design though. But mmakaay has more schematics that together form a complete product that I can replicate.
