I’m in the UK and I’m looking to buy a dual/twin port EV charger to be able to charge two cars simultaneously. Any suggestions?
I currently have an Easee One charger that works great and I can control it exactly as I require via Home Assistant but the household will be getting a 2nd EV soon but unable to support 2 x 32A connections.
One plan was to 3 Pin/Granny Charge one of the EVs controlling it via a smart plug to only charge when the electric rate is cheap - but I want to avoid the potential fire risk and it would require some automations to be written that I could trust to ensure the wiring in that area (to the garage) isn’t overloaded.
Essential requirements
- Two ports - would prefer untethered.
- Charge simultaenously
- Ability to restrict max total current (circuit has a 25A restriction)
- HA control to start, stop, change power/current
- Even better if it was OCPP
Basically everything I can do with the Easee One but with two ports.
