light switches, ACs, fans, shutters, and similar stuff

I saw that cameras use extensive resources and might not be suitable for Raspberry PI, is this true or is it only applicable for older models? What is the best hardware for running all the things I mentioned?
They’re cheap(ish), have low power consumption and should do all you want.
I use one for an 8 x 4k IP camera NVR and it generally cruises along at about 5 to 10% CPU utilisation. It has 16GB of RAM that mostly hovers around 25% use.
I use an i7-1165G7 NUC for my mid to large Home Assistant install and it is complete overkill. CPU averages 1%, and 20% use of 8GB RAM. Takes 40s to reboot from cold.
