Which hardware to have an input?

Team, i’m struggling to understand which hardware I should use to get ann input into Home Assistant. I want to know if a door is open or closed. I have a magnetic switch on the door that gives me the open close the status but to what should I connect it so I can read it from Home assistant, I cannot use the trigger switcher, for example, of a sign of or a Shelly as they want to work with high voltage while here I should be at very low voltage
Where are you able to do the same? What could I use?

There are battery powered door/window sensors for WiFi, Thread, Zigbee, Z-wave and RF, so what do you have in your current setup and what would you prefer?

@WallyR WiFi for sure as I do not have Zigbee or ZWave, matter could be ok.
I can have both battery or power (220v) I’m flexible but was not able to find a solution… this is why I feel dummy

for wifi just look into ones like this:

For matter you can look into these but you need the hub 2 to act as a matter bridge for them:

I’m not entirely clear on the system already installed on the door, but you might want to check out the Shelly Uni. It’s versatile and can work with various sensors, doorbells, and more.

If you’re considering getting a battery door sensor, I’d strongly recommend opting for a Zigbee sensor instead of a Wi-Fi one. In my experience, Zigbee sensors have significantly better battery life—often lasting 2 to 3 times longer (worth the Zigbee setup).

Thank you all!!!

Matter is not a communication protocol for RF signals.
That would be WiFi or Thread then.
