For most of my LED strips in house, I use the Miboxer FUT035Z+ LED driver, which works over Zigbee with my Hue bridge.
The problem I’m facing is that there appear to be compatibility issues with Hue and/or Home Assistant.
For example, if I create an automation or script to turn off one of these LED strips, and set the transition time to 0, that transition time is ignored.
Sometimes, the LED strips even come up in the wrong color, i.e. they show the color that was set previously or show (warm) white when they should be showing an RGB color or vice versa.
Specific Hue effects, such as Candle, Fireplace, etc. are all unavailable as well.
So here are three questions:
- So far, I have found no way to upgrade the firmware of Miboxer FUT035Z+. Is anyone aware if firmware updates are even possible (with the assumption that it might fix some of my issues)?
- In your experience, which (Zigbee) LED driver is most seamlessly compatible with Hue and/or Home Assistant? Which one will follow parameters set by Home Assistant, such as transition time, most closely? Are there even (Zigbee) LED drivers known to be compatible with Hue’s effects?
- Another route I just came across is Matter over Thread using this LED driver from Gledopto. This will of course drop support through the Hue app, but in some specific cases, that might not be an issue for me if everything works as expected. Any experiences with this driver?
