I have a number of Tapo P110 Energy monitoring plug switches. For some months they have been working happily with the 3rd party Tapo integration.
Since my last HA upgrade to 2024.2 , HA has alerted me to their existence and offered for me to configure them, so presumably the internal TP-Link integration has been updated to enable them.
I can’t find anything in the documentation to recommend one or the other, though obviously a 3rd party integration could have a lower lifespan.
I have 10 P110’s working fine using HACS but recently I am being told that HA has “discovered” 10 TAPO P110’s and is asking to add them. How do I “gracefully” migrate from HACS to built-in?
HA integrated capability would always be the first choice. The only reason to deviate would be that there is some feature that is important to you that is only available in the third party integration.
I tend to agree. But I am pondering how best to make the transition. I can delete the HACS integration but I suspect that would cause dashboard mayhem. Could I then re-add the devices using the built in integration and repair my dashboards?
