Which Super-Cool Thermostat for HA?

I’m working on remodeling a 1978 home in the United States and I have a need (well, let’s call it a desire) to install two new thermostats that can be used remotely such as the functionality offered via Google’s Nest Thermostats. Which thermostat are you using with full Home Assistant integration?

Although I’ve been generally happy with my Nest Thermostat, it has an impressive display, it looks really nice on the wall and it feels good in my hand with that sexy stainless steel encasement, I would like to consider all the possibilities. Now, here’s the kicker. Is Nest 100% compatible with Home Assistant? If so, do you recommend Nest? What are the downsides of the Nest HA combination?

BTW: I do not like the design of the very newest 2024 4th Generation Nest Thermostats and I don’t like that they are not compatible with the elegant Nest IOS App, instead you have to use their Google Home app… So, if I went Nest I might look for the previous models. For that reason, I’d consider Ecobee and preliminary research shows that more entities are exposed to HA with Ecobee compared to Nest.

What other thermostats (with a refined look, feel and Home Assistant compatibility) should consider? Google Nest or Ecobee or something else?

Thanks,

R
