Which temperature and humidity sensor do you use?

Hi Guys,

I actually use some xiaomi aqara sensor temparature, with an aqara gate 2 as hub.
It’s working, but i’m not entirely satisfied because:

  • i don’t like the aqara gate 2 who have only wifi (no rj45) and have a chinese plug with an EU adapter who seems to be a gadget and make all the stuff so big.
  • even if i put a lot of sensor for making a “mesh”, the outside sensor disconnect everytime.

So, i would like to know, what do you use, other brands ? or do some stuff to avoid some problems ?

Hello!

First of all: Sensors do not mesh, they are all endpoints. Only mains powered devices mesh.

The Aqara sensors will do fine. Just connect direct to HA via USB: https://zigbee.blakadder.com/dresden_elektronik_ConBee_II.html, https://zigbee.blakadder.com/Electrolama_zzh.html or https://zigbee.blakadder.com/ITEAD_M0802010007.html)

I use the xiaomi mijia sensors (The round ones - WSDCGQ01LM https://zigbee.blakadder.com/Xiaomi_WSDCGQ01LM.html), a device called TS0201 with a nice display in bath and sleeping room (https://zigbee.blakadder.com/Tuya_TS0201.html) and a USB zigbee-controller with ZHA in combination with 3 Osram Smart+ Plug (https://zigbee.blakadder.com/OSRAM_AB3257001NJ.html) for mesh (and for switching power).

Works in the whole residence including outdoor sensors.

i’m using the xiamo aqara also, but the square one.
i din’t know that the mesh was only on powered device, so thx for the tips with the plugs osram. it’s a good idea.

whish USB zigbee-controller with ZHA did you use ? i actually have a CC2531 but i didn’t flash it with ZHA or something like that so didn’t work actually. sensors are connected with the aqara hub (don’t like it)

i need to reinstall my HA, but yeah, i think the first things i will do is to make working the CC2531
