In all my years here, I have yet to ignore or block anyoneā¦
It keeps me from saying bad things for no reason to people that are not worth it.
And itās liberating, actually.
Oops. 19 on my igno list. But only two are blocked because of personal reasons, the other 17 where blocked because of their attitude against others.
Iām with @Sir_Goodenough
, it saves time and nerves. Better invested in people, that really are looking for help.
The Facebook Shelly group is even funnier: āMy thing blew up! This is my wiring. Help! How can I fix this?ā Uhā¦ Please, please, please get an electrician. Buy a new Shelly.
At least with ESPHome youāre usually dealing with DC.
PS: Anybody can make a mistake. The trick is knowing when youāre out of your depth and what the risks are.
Nah, itās more fun as a drinking game.
Still trying to figure out how many beers it takes to hit Reply instead of Close.
Will let you know when I get my first flagged post.
Iām in that group too, and I wonder how people survive to actually post their complaints.
Maybe thereās an Electrocuted ex-Shelly owners group we donāt know about. Might be wise to send some flowers.
My first blur. Lots of firsts today. That a pic of someone that might have been working with blown up electrical stuff.
Despite the blur, he seems to be still standing.
If at first you donāt succeedā¦
Or Maybe he have tested the response-time on his Door-Sensor VS Voice-Sensor" ā¦ hmmmm, which one will trigger first , iāll test ā¦upps
lol well, there was my first block ever!
Actions, meet consequences.
That guy was a true scholar
hmmmā¦me neither (so far); Iāve never had the need to ignore anyone ā¦.
Aaaahhh, you small animal chaser device.
I donāt see ātarget aquiredā sensorā¦
Strict instructions from the wife are upheld, no mowing after dark (mainly hedgehogs here that are in risk). But it has some garden toys on its list already
You know thereās a season sensor for that, right? lol
Itās actually kinda funny. All my ceiling fans reversed out of blue because I forgot that I setup an automation that reverses them based on the season (reverse mode for winter and forward for spring, summer and fall). I was ready to yank them all down until I looked in HA and was like "duh!!!ā
Haha, thatās great speaking of climate, take a look at the MELcloud thread, so many new users!
I have recently seen a lot of: āHelp, I just installed HA but I canāt get to ip_address:8123ā
Some seem to be simple RPi initial installs while others are more complex VM installs.
There seems to be no pattern and some have not been resolved. I would like to do a āhow toā troubleshooting guide but it seems there are way too many variables. And Iām guessing network issues (misconfiguration) may be the root cause of most of these.
Thoughts?
EDIT: I just realized I should have put this in the Cookbook - Discussion Thread.
