I’ve been using nervetattoo/simple-thermostat for years to control a number from 0-X with a circular slider. It worked, though with some headaches. Is there some other slider or dumb thermostat that might work?
Could you post the yaml for that? I’ve searched for 15 minutes and am flabbergasted
type: tile
entity: climate.upstairs
features_position: bottom
vertical: false
features:
- type: target-temperature
Anyway… it’s still in HACS as far as I can see.
This is closer to what I’m seeking. Is there a way to change the scale from F/C to Fubars?
No. A climate entity can only use the temperature device class units.
How about explaining the actual problem you are trying to solve instead of your chosen solution as it is not a good fit. See: https://xyproblem.info/
I dunno. I got a message in settings saying it’s been removed.
I want to be able to issue a command from one of the voice modules to read/change an input_number. AFAIK thermostats are the only devices that allow you to do change the temperature. A simple automation updates the input_number.
Create a new post in the Configuration-Voice category asking how to change an input number by voice command.
I don’t know enough about voice assistants to assist you with this but your chosen solution does not seem like it would be the best way.
Someone there should be able to help.
I heard it was flagged as abandoned and no longer maintained.
Which would not change the github stuff but no longer auto watched by HACS. Should be able to keep it like a custom though.
The original repo has not been updated in 3 years. Based on the discussion in the Issues section, some of the critical dependencies are outdated and the owner of the repo is not responding to issue reports or PRs.
There is an updated fork that you can add using the custom repositories feature in HACS:
I wish people would stop doing this, unless the thing stops actually working.
well, at least I can’t:
<Integration nickdos/simple-thermostat> Repository structure for v2.2.7 is not compliant
When adding the repository, make sure you select Type > Dashboard.
