Why does HA keep changing my default dashboard?

I have the HA dashboard (the one that ships with the system and came by default) and another one created and managed by me.

As you can see in the above picture Home is set as the default dashboard but sometimes when I access the site using homeassistant.local:8123 the dashboard I see is the Overview. The same thing happens on the mobile app on my phone and my iPad, the only way to fix this is by going to my user and choosing the dashboard one more time but this is tedious and it is happening often. Is there a way to setup this up permanently?

Me too on occasion.

I don’t know why it happens, but my fix is to just change the URL I use to connect to include the full path to my dashboard:

http://192.168.20.110:8123/lovelace-nyname/default_view

http://homeassistant.local:8123/lovelace-myname/default_view

I thought I read somewhere that if you are accessing HA through a browser, and you delete your cache, it will cause this. I’ve experienced it as well, and had recently flushed my browser cache (using Chrome).

Just my $.02.

Seems to happen after upgrades too, so frustrating to have to change this every month

Happens on all devices for me. Really annoying, really unnecessary level of complication. Fine for myself, but I’m not the only one who controls stuff around here and for everyone else it’s always a real nuisance that I end up having to fix, at least once a week.

This continually happens to me both through the website and the HA app (using the paid cloud service). Probably my #1 annoyance with HA as a whole, because of how I keep having to “fix” it back to my defaults.

There may be other ways as well but here is one that is mentioned often:
