In GITHUB is a pull request for a repair to Tuya Lights. It has been tested and works, but appears to have been missed by Franck Nijhof. Notifications are easy to miss for a busy person.
The request can be found at 2024.4 Tuya integration: lights white/color mode not updated. I believe the comments in GitHub accurately reflect the level of frustration that Tuya Light users are feeling.
FYI Frenck quit as Tuya maintainer (Remove myself as codeowner from Tuya integration by frenck · Pull Request #133921 · home-assistant/core · GitHub), so whoever you’re waiting for… it isn’t him.
old post, i know, but in case anyone else is in the same boat… FWIW, I’ve been using this integration, and have had basically zero problems since getting it up and running. it is a bit more work to get it going, but it’s worth it:
